On the water
Day cruises circle Antiparos and the uninhabited islets of Despotiko, stopping at turquoise bays only reachable by boat. Golden Beach and Pounda are ideal for windsurfing and kitesurfing lessons, and there is excellent diving and snorkelling around the island.
On foot
Paros has a network of marked hiking trails, the most famous being the Byzantine path from Lefkes. In early summer, the Valley of the Butterflies (Petaloudes), a short drive south of Parikia, is a peaceful green oasis.
Culture & tastes
Visit the Archaeological Museum of Parikia, the ancient marble quarries at Marathi and the island’s wineries. Summer evenings bring village festivals (panigyria) with music, dancing and food.
